Thousand Palms is an unincorporated community within the 4th District of Riverside County, California. It is managed by 4th District Supervisor John Benoit who has appointed a five-member community council to hear and give feedback on the concerns of the community.

Once a sleepy suburb of starlit Palm Springs, Thousand Palms is fast becoming a mover and doer in its own right. Home to the fabulous new Classic Club with its championship golf course and gourmet Bellatrix Restaurant, it will soon see construction begin on the five-star Aventerra Hotel & Resort including 2,500 additional residential units, offices and a shopping center with major retail attractions.

The community’s friendly rural atmosphere and central Coachella Valley location have not only attracted families seeking proximity to the workplace and a well-rounded environment for their children, but freedom-seeking, luxury-home owners with million dollar horse ranches and luxurious view estates that have been zoned away in other areas of the Valley.

Two new industrial sections to the east and west of downtown are growing at a rapid pace. Those areas now boast the very active Riverside County Code Enforcement Department and Permit Assistance Center, as well as the new and lovely Animal Campus where lost and abandoned pets are housed humanely. Animal Samaritans has its new state-of-the-art clinic within the Campus, and two veterinarians are on staff for affordable care.

Downtown, the County recently constructed the brand new Roy Wilson Fire Station with the largest fire-training center in the Inland Empire, a center tied to College of the Desert which is only a few minutes away.

Schools in Thousand Palms include the public Della Lindley Elementary School and the brand new private Xavier College Preparatory High School. Among the colleges in close proximity are Cal State San Bernardino, the University of Riverside Desert Campus, Chapman University College and the College of the Desert.

Residents have access to the Riverside County Library and Thousand Palms Community Center with affordable after-school care and activities for young and old alike.

Shopping, dining and entertainment, including the fabulous new Agua Caliente Resort & Casino are within a 10-minute drive. Thousand Palms offers seniors a healthy retirement lifestyle with affordable golfing, active country club living and amusements within close proximity.
